Stanford University Print Policy

Use of Personal Printers

Effective February 1, 2021, the policy approved by the Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer states personal print devices will not be allowed on the University network.

 

School of Engineering IT Printer Support

SoE IT aligns with the University's policy and mission to improve user experience, increase efficiencies, mitigate security risks, achieve sustainability goals, and efficiently use financial resources.​ Specifically, with regard to printing.

SoE IT will not support the following:

  • Personal Print Devices
  • MFD printers not approved through the exception process.

 

Note: Poster printers (or any other specialty printers) do not require an exemption for purchase.
