Windows 10 support ends
Stanford Sunset of Windows 10
On September 22nd, 2025, Windows 10 will no longer meet Stanford's minimum security standards. To ensure Windows devices remain actively patched, we encourage upgrading to Windows 11. Going forward, all Windows 10 devices will be flagged as non-compliant.

Please consider these options:

- Make a copy of your recovery key.
- Verify your data is backed up in a secondary location (e.g., Google Drive, CrashPlan, external hard drive).

- Retire the Windows device and securely dispose of the hardware.
