Upcoming Departmental Firewall Migrations

University IT will conduct network firewall migrations on the dates listed. Migrations are typically executed in under 5 minutes within the 2-hour migration window.

What do I need to know?
University IT will conduct network firewall migrations on the dates listed below. UIT will complete these upgrades through a minimally disruptive process where all of the firewall rules will remain intact. Migrations are typically executed in under 5 minutes within the 2-hour migration window, and most hosts and services will transparently recover with negligible impact. Persistent network connections (e.g., SSH or FTP sessions) will be dropped during the cutover and need to be restarted.

Wireless connections will not be affected.

What do I need to do?
Save any open documents, experiments, etc., before the scheduled network maintenance window, and be aware that persistent network connections will be dropped during the cutover. In rare cases, computers may need to be restarted to resume normal network operations.
