macOS Wireless Degradation
If you are experiencing wireless performance issues with your macOS device, we may have a fix for you!
Issue
If you have an Apple computer and are experiencing any wireless connectivity problems listed below, this may pertain to a known issue within the IT community.
Wireless problems include:
- Inability to connect to Stanford wireless network
- Stanford wireless connection disconnects frequently
- Low signal strength from Stanford wireless network causing browser slowness
- Zoom sessions are not functioning as expected -- "unstable network"
Troubleshooting Tips
Update macOS
- Click the Apple icon
- Select About This Mac
- Click Software Update
- Click Update Now for the latest macOS update
Remove Cisco Socket Filter
- Open Finder > Applications
- Expand the Cisco folder
- Delete the Cisco AnyConnect Socket Filter
- Reboot computer
