To maintain reliability and security, Windows servers are patched and rebooted from 8-10AM on the Saturday following the second Tuesday of each month (a.k.a "patch Tuesday" when Microsoft updates are released). If a critical security issue requires more immediate patching or we incur unscheduled downtime, we will make a best effort to notify department managers and potentially affected stakeholders as soon as possible.
The following services/servers may be temporarily unavailable during the maintenance window:
- Shared Network Drives (Dean's Office, ChemE, ICME)
- SoE FileMaker
- Smolke File Server
- MSE File Server
