Postgrads and Office 2013

Jeff Barkow -

There is a two-step approach towards resolving this issue between Word 2013 and PostGrads.  The first part is to add some PostGrads files to the list of Word Trusted Locations (in Word 2013). The steps to do this are listed below:

  1. Open Word 2013
  2. Click File
  3. Click Options
  4. Click Trust Center
  5. Click the Trust Center Settings button
  6. Click Trusted Locations
  7. Click the Add new location button
  8. Enter C:\temp\ in the path and click the OK button.
  9. Click the Add new location button
  10. Enter C:\PostGrads\temp\ in the path and click the OK button.
  11. Click the Add new location button
  12. Enter C:\PostGrads\DMSCACHE\ in the path and click the OK button.
  13. Click the Add new location button
  14. Enter C:\PostGrads\DMSOUT\ in the path and click the OK button.
  15. Click the OK button.
  16. Click the OK button.
  17. Close Word 2013

The second step is to open the attached file pgdesktop.ini and saving it to the proper location.

  1. Open the file in notepad; goto File>Save As and navigate to C:\PostGrads\pathdir\

  3. You will get a message that the pgdesktop.ini file already exists and will ask if you want to replace it, please choose ‘yes’ to replace the file and then try opening a document in DocMan or Unified View.

Worked great to resolve printing issue from PostGrads using "print draft" with Word 2013.

    Thanks Jeff !
