How to set auto-expiration/delete in Box

Jeff Barkow -

Box allows you to set auto-expiration for files and folders.

  • This can be used to unshare or delete a file or folder on a specific date.
  • To access this feature you must login to http://box.stanford.edu and navigate to the file or folder you'd like to set auto-expiration (this cannot be done with the desktop client.)

1) Click on the box with the triangle pointing down, move your cursor over 'Properties' and then select 'Set Expiration'.

1a) Similarly, the same steps can be done for a folder.

2) Selecting to unshare will disable the link on the date you select from the blue calendar box.  This can also be similarly done to delete the file/folder on a selected date.
